What is Telemedicine?

"Telemedicine," called Smart Virtual Care, is a tool provided by Clever Health™ or Teladoc in MA. It provides convenient medical care that can serve as your first line of defense when it comes to acute medical needs. 

Smart Virtual Care (Telemedicine) through Clever Health™ uses AI and population health data to streamline and optimize your virtual visit. Through the Clever Health App, you’ll experience greater convenience, faster visit times, more accurate diagnoses, additional Prescription Discounts, and 24/7 access to mental health chat resources.

What is Smart Virtual Care?

  • Easier–Via an asynchronous smart questionnaire (a series of intuitively prompted questions your Provider usually asks during your intake), you are able to give the Provider enough information to diagnose you without having to speak over the phone. Known for its overwhelming convenience, 9 out of 10 users prefer to use Clever Health’s AI-driven questionnaire. Using Clever Health, you and your family have access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to state-licensed and fully credentialed Providers in the most convenient way. However, Clever Health consults via chat, phone, or video are still available to you and your family.
  • Faster–Quicker onboarding, more efficient doctor visits using an AI-driven smart questionnaire, and reduced wait times for you.
  • Better–Using intelligent intake, local Providers, and population health intelligence, Clever Health reduces errors and can provide proper follow-ups and ongoing care at local facilities.

How does Smart Virtual Care work?

Step 1: After downloading the Clever Health App and following the onboarding instructions, Members can select which Member of their family needs care.

Step 2: After selecting "Virtual Care," Members will be triggered into an intuitive smart questionnaire that allows the Member to answer intake questions at their own pace concerning their symptoms. Once completed, the smart questionnaire is then reviewed by a Provider, who sends the diagnosis, treatment plan, and prescription (if needed) back to the Member via the app.

Step 2a: In some rare cases, the Provider will initiate a call with the Member for further evaluation and/or clarification before sending their diagnosis, treatment plan, and prescription if needed.

Step 3: Having completed their Smart Virtual Care visit in an easier, faster, and better way, OneShare Members are on a clear path to wellness! Now that's Clever.

Initially, Telemedicine was created to treat patients who lived in areas with a shortage of medical care professionals, or that were far away from local health facilities. Today, Telemedicine is still used in these instances, but it's steadily becoming a tool for convenient medical care.

However, it is important to note that Smart Virtual Care (Telemedicine) Services are intended to treat non-emergency conditions. As always, in case of a life-threatening emergency, you should dial 911, immediately.
