When people get hurt because of a third party, often the third party is responsible to pay for the subsequent care. In such instances, OneShare will often still facilitate sharing for the medical care, with an understanding that if a third party is responsible to pay the same bills, OSH will be entitled to reimbursement on behalf of the Membership. This can occur either by OneShare Health pursuing reimbursement directly from the liable third payer, or reimbursement to OneShare Health from the Member after the Member receives funds from the liable third-party payer.
Subrogation is therefore a process that allows OneShare Health to recover these expenses from the appropriate party, allowing OSH the ability to continue to offer affordable Programs and share in more Members’ expenses.
"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."
1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV)
