What is the primary difference between First Health and Provider Choice?

As of May 15, 2022, Members are no longer restricted to an In-Network/Out-of-Network Provider requirement when it comes to Physicians and Facilities.

As a OneShare Health Member, you are empowered with Freedom of Choice when searching for medical care and are provided with tools to help you navigate and actively participate in your healthcare decisions.

Go see your selected Provider. Providers will call OneShare Health to verify your Membership, and our trained team of Specialists will take care of the rest.

Smart Virtual Care (Telemedicine)

Your first line of defense for common and acute ailments is a Clever Health™ visit. Smart Virtual Care visits are always 100% shared at OneShare Health, meaning this is a $0 Visit Fee for you.

Before Visiting Your Doctor

The My Choice Provider Locator at MyChoice.OneShareHealth.com is your tool to determine whether your doctor will accept a set sharing amount without balance billing. It lists the doctors who have a relationship with OneShare or one of our partners, so we may easily process their bills.

If you choose not to use a doctor listed in the My Choice Provider Locator, it is still important to have a conversation with them about your Program and how they will be reimbursed.

Advocate for your Program by explaining it is a Member-driven option that allows you to choose any Provider.

In rare instances, a doctor not listed in the My Choice Provider Locator will insist on receiving their full billed charge and refuse to negotiate with OneShare, leaving a Member with some additional sharing responsibility.

Before you visit…

Check the My Choice Provider Locator to find a doctor.

  • Call OneShare Health for help finding a Hospital, Facility, or Lab near you.
  • Talk to your physician about your Program. Talking points are provided below!
  • Advocate for your Program as a Member-driven option to save you and other Members money.

Fair & Reasonable Sharing

Fair and Reasonable Sharing is OneShare Health’s model that facilitates sharing at a fair amount when compared to services performed. We start with approving an amount based upon a percentage above the Provider’s Medicare rate. If a Provider does not accept that amount, we will advocate on your behalf with the Provider to significantly reduce their charges, when appropriate.

Asking the Right Questions

Know how to speak to your doctor about your OneShare Health Program.

DON'T Say... Instead, Say...
Do you “accept” my Program? Do you accept Medicare? Great! My Program will facilitate sharing of Eligible expenses at more than what you get from Medicare.
Do you “take” my Program? My Program reimburses a percentage ABOVE your current Medicare rate. Since you accept Medicare, I expect that you accept my Program’s sharing without balance billing!
I don’t know if “you” are “covered” by my Program? What do you charge for services? My Program can reimburse me if I pay cash.
Are you in my network? My Program is a Health Care Sharing Ministry that processes my bills for sharing. There is no network. My Program reimburses a fair and reasonable amount based on a percentage above your Medicare rate.
I don’t know how much “my Program” pays for that. My Program allows me to choose any physician I want. I would like to be able to use you as my physician. Can we discuss how we can work together?
